Tips

Eiffel Tower: After dark the tower is lit, but at every full hour it will show special lights effects. The best view is from a square near the exit at Trocadero metro station.

Metro: A single trip costs € 1,70 and allows you to travel the whole metro destrict. However as soon as you exit a metro station you have to pay again when entering. So when you hop on and hop off during a day of sightseeing it is deffinitely worth buying a day ticket. When you buy it at the campsite it will cost € 13,65 including the shuttle bus from the campsite to the nearest metro station.

Highlights or not

Etretat: Coastal village with beautiful white cliffs and a natural arch.

Hornfleur: Nice small village

Normandy II World War landing beaches: There are many beaches with war monuments in this area. We visited Juno Beach. Here there is also a museum. There is a nice walking along the beach and through the dunes with several monuments and memorials.

Mont Saint Michel: Monastry on a small rock island. Although a nice place to visit, during holiday season it is extremely crowded here. Parking is expensive at €12,- a day. For €20,- you can park at the camper area and stay the night. From the parking there are free shuttle busses to the island.

Paris: City of Love. Many places to see and visit. We like the Eiffel Tower at night.

FR-CAMP07   N45°00.686  W000°28.153

Saint Andre de  Cubzac, Bushcamp. Not a nice spot but safe. We did not wanted to stay on the nearby located campsite and ended op here.

FR-CAMP08   N45°56.985  W000°32.225

Saint-Jean-D'Ang ely, Camping Val de Boutonne, Well maintained campsite nearby a nice village. A real family campsite. Not our kind of place but most Europeans will like it. Clean, green and has everything you need. Nearby, on the other side of the lake is also a camper spot but when we were there it had no space left.

FR-CAMP09   N49°16.592  E002°30.865

Camping la Sapiniere near Creil. Not very touristy. Campsite is mainly used by local French people who stay the whole season here. At the back of the campsite is a small field for camping. Although nothing special we really liked this place. One of the few places where we had nice contact with the locals.
